In the Fall of 2022, my peers and I designed the Autotrike, a CVT assisted tricycle for our capstone project at Berkeley. We aimed to make the biking experience more accessible by augmenting an existing tricycle with an automatic CVT system. The vehicle takes pitch input from an IMU and uses a CAM and lever system to drive conical sheaves together or apart to change the drive ratio. I led the design and also did manufacturing and assembly. My team was recognized for our efforts with the Mechanical Design award.
