Formula Electric Motor Choice

A plot generated from my efficiency calculator program that was used to determine motor choice for Formula Electric at Berkeley's 2021 car. I led our team's decision to choose a single Emrax 228 motor to power our car based on a combination of factors including lap simulations for various events, power to weight ratio and calculated efficiency. For calculating energy usage, I exported results from a lap simulator (Optimum Lap) into Matlab and used those in combination with an efficiency plot provided by Emrax to calculate energy usage over a flying lap.
